The Belarusian Federation of Trade Unions continues monitoring prices on socially important goods. Particular attention is being paid to medicines. As of May—June, prices on 26 items included in the first aid kit were monitored. The results suggest no significant fluctuations. Since August, the list of medicines that fall under the price control will be expanded to include 50 of the most popular drugs. All the information on inflated prices will be transferred to the Ministry of Health.

At the same time, the vegetables and dairy products prices have increased. The trade unions contacted the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus to consider this issue and, if necessary, to conduct an investigation.

Another object of monitoring was goods for students. Experts checked the prices on clothes, shoes, and stationery. The data from 20 to 25 June showed that is has become slightly more expensive for parents to prepare their children for school (the increase ranges within 1—5%), while some goods have become slightly cheaper.
