Dmitry Mironchik, the Press Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, has made a statement at a briefing today. Citizens of Belarus, who are now in Egypt or are intending to visit the country, are advised not to make trips beyond tourist and resort areas. The ministry also warns against travelling to North Sinai.

These recommendations were first introduced in 2014. On 9 April, a series of deadly blasts occurred in Tanta and Alexandria. A state of emergency was imposed in Egypt. The local police have already announced the name of the Alexandria terror attacks - the perpetrator was Mahmoud Hasan Mubarak Abdullah, 31, a resident of Suez province.
