9th International Festival of Puppet Theatres launches in Minsk

By Olga Medved: The best puppeteers from Belarus, Israel, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Ukraine have gathered in Minsk to take part in the 9th International Festival of Puppet Theatres and demonstrate innovative forms of theatre art. 14 performances are scheduled to be presented within five days. The festival’s programme will also feature winners of the prestigious theatre award Golden Mask.

In addition to the performances, theatergoers will be able to attend meetings and workshops with the participants of the forum. This year’s innovation is a musical evening of songs written specially for puppet theatres.

Throughout the history of its existence, the festival has featured participants from more than 60 countries.
