President visits large enterprises set up with foreign capital

By Natalia Breus: Kronospan, an Austrian company with 40 plants and 14,000 employees all over the world, opened its branch in Belarus in 2011, investing over a billion euros in plants in Smorgon and Mogilev. The company exports over 30,000 product items to 125 countries. Kronospan has created over 5,000 jobs in the region, offering its employees a high salary and social benefits. The investor has a business development plan, which includes acquiring new land plots in Mogilev and Smorgon and establishing direct partnership with forestry enterprises. The President is ready to support the ambitious plans if national interests are complied with.

Lida is home to a company with Lithuanian investments — Arvibelagro specializes in turkey meat processing. The investors are also planning to set up a compound feed production plant.

Favorable conditions created by the state and conscientious investor activities result in a balanced public-private partnership, which is always beneficial for the regions and the country as a whole.
