Giving warmth and care to youngest Belarusians

By Ilona Krasutskaya: This year Belarus will for the first time reach zero demographic balance, with an increase in population by 17,000 people in view of migration. These figures were pointed out a few days before the New Year’s Eve during the opening of a maternity clinic at Minsk’s Hospital No. 5.

Children are a special asset of Belarus, from birth in advanced and, most importantly, free of charge centres, to developing personality with special funds for talent support. One of the most important events of the Christmas and New Year season is the charity campaign Our Children. For 20 years, it has been bringing together thousands of people from all over Belarus, who visit orphanages to congratulate children and fulfill their wishes. Among them are Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin, Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Kochanova, the President's Assistant for National Security Viktor Lukashenko, Head of the Presidential Sports Club Dmitry Lukashenko, State Security Committee Chairman Valery Vakulchik, Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets and Head of the Presidential Administration Alexander Kosinets.
