Developments of scientists prolong life at affected areas

Hundreds of resettled villages, billions of dollars for rehabilitation was the fee of Belarus for the fatal explosion at Chernobyl reactor.

Yet, the developments of scientists, the practical experience of the agrarians of Polesye changed the life in the contaminated territories.

After the tragedy in Chernobyl, 265,000 hectares of land were excluded from agricultural production. More than 30 thousand hectares have already been returned to farmers. Most of them are in Gomel Region. These territories are used as efficiently as possible.

This mobile ambulance station has been operating in the district for several months. The reception schedule is 30 people a day. While the kids undergo ultrasound, adults are provided with a cardiogram and a general blood test.

Today life in the affected territories continues. Enterprises are being modernized, business is developing, schools and gardens are being built. Agriculture is developing.
