In view of the unstable situation around Belarus and the growing geopolitical contradictions, the Belarusian army must be mobile and efficient to respond adequately to current challenges and threats. Particular attention should be paid to officer corps training.

Serious measures will be taken to reorganise the Air Force and Air Defence Forces with the transition to new aviation complexes. Reconnaissance assets, radioelectronic warfare and communications systems will be modernised. All these aspects will form a plan for the Armed Forces development from 2016 till 2020.

Speaking of the social sphere, it's no secret that today the military salaries are above the national average. People in uniform can further count on preferential loans for housing construction.

Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the military on the forthcoming Fatherland Defenders Day and was presented with a Kalashnikov rifle.
