By Olga Anishchenko: Belarusian machine builders have joined their efforts in one holding company. The company was established on the basis of AMKODOR, one of the country’s auto giants, and it will fully meet the demand of farmers in domestic technology. At the moment, it includes as many as 800 products. Another 500 machines and equipment units are being developed. The equipment will be assembled with the components produced in Belarus.

Annually, 5 to 10 prototypes of equipment are developed in the company. The pace of renewal is now meeting the needs of agriculture. The AMKODOR group includes 19 plants, and now the agricultural holding company has been set up. The goal of the new company is to fully satisfy the domestic demand and to completely eliminate imports.

At the presentation in Dzerzhinsk, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko noted once again that the country promotes new enterprises that will work for the domestic market and that competition is the vehicle of progress.

Within the next few years, the Belarusian producer is expected to manufacture all the necessary agricultural machines. On top of that, the production of the components for the equipment is to be 100% localized, too. Today, AMKODOR produces about 80% of this volume.

The new company includes 4 plants, and one of them got its official status today. In Dzerzhinsk, a new Elezer plant was launched. The plant will produce agricultural machinery for soil cultivation. The plant is equipped with the newest equipment and the most modern machine tools. By the end of the year, the new holding will have the production capacities comparable to those of the recognized world leaders. Half the produce will be exported.

Machine builders have high hopes. They are planning to set up more factories. This year, they will work on establishing a plant that will manufacture gearboxes.

Also, by late June, the BELGEE plant in Borisov will launch its pilot line of cars, which will become the country's first full-cycle car production.
