In two years, Belcoopsoyuz enterprises plan to increase their profits by 50 per cent due to the sale of furs. The six fur farms produce more than 90 percent of Belarusian furs. There are plans to create a joint venture with a Greek company making finished products. Also, the Belarusian farms are switching to Scandinavian type furs as they are more in demand on world markets, costing an average of 20% higher than Eastern European furs.

The enterprises are currently undergoing technical re-equipment. 400 billion rubles are planned to be allocated this year to modernize the fur industry.
