Belarus counts to put end to Lithuania's claims to Belarusian NPP

Belarus expects to put an end to Lithuania's claims to the Belarusian NPP during the meeting of the Parties to the Espoo Convention. Today, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko announced this at the opening of the international forum in Minsk. The meeting of the parties to the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment is held in our country for the first time. The forum brought together more than 200 representatives from 45 countries. The agenda includes 15 important international documents in the field of climate change, the achievement of sustainable development goals and the application of the convention on nuclear energy. Dozens of discussions and bilateral meetings will be held in the next three days.

The President of Belarus sent greetings to the participants of the meeting. Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that the session of the parties to the Espoo Convention will have a positive effect in promoting the goals of sustainable development, and the choice of our country is a recognition of Belarus' significant contribution to the global ecology. Based on the results of the forum, they plan to adopt Minsk Declaration.
