Film festival Listopad closes in Minsk. By Julia Romanovich: The grand prix of the festival went to a 2008 Bulgarian drama film "The World is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner", co-produced with Slovenia, Germany and Hungary. (Gennady Garbuk, national artiste of Belarus) (Pavel Latushko, Belarusian Minister of Culture: "The idea of the festival was to open our doors, show the best of the European and world filmmaking.") "The Everlasting Moments of Maria Larsson" coproduced by Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Sweden received a silver prize. (Pavel Chukhrai, Russian film director, chair of the jury of international film festival "Listopad": "It was difficult to select the winners, as too many films deserved the awards.") (Kira Muratova, Ukrainian film director: "I like Minsk very much and I like the festival, because it's not glamorous, but deep and thoughtful".) (Bogdan Stupka, national artiste of the USSR: This is a remarkable festival.") The wave of "Listopad" touched practically all movie theaters of Minsk.
