Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk 2004

The 13th International Festival"Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk" took place July 15-22 2004 . The National State TV and Radio Company of the RB is the principal broadcaster of the festival. The people of Belarus had an opportunity to watch and listen to the live coverage of its brightest activities on the First National TV Channel, family TV channel LAD, The First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio and radio station"Radius FM". Belteleradiocompany's crew at the festival included 140 people, more than any other shooting crew. As it had promised, Belteleradiocompany aired official opening and closing ceremonies, gala concerts of the Belarusian, Ukrainian and Russian performers and a final contest of young singers. It also made video records of major events and night concerts, which will be shown later.

With the help of satellite connection, the TV News Agency made live presentations of all festival activities on the First National Channel and TV Channel LAD. Many programs of the First National TV Channel and TV channel LAD were broadcasted right from Vitebsk . Every day from July 15 through July 22 Nadezhda Gerasimchik and Evgeny Yuranov made reports about the festival.

On the Day of the Belarusian Culture the nation demonstrated to foreign guests a diversity of its cultural life. The most interesting events took place in Craftsmen's Town, where one could see an unveiling of old furnace in the neighborhood of potters. And the program"Diaries" took part in a smithery festival.

On July 18 the residents of Vitebsk had a meeting with the program"Your Lottery" and its host Sergey Kukhto and the viewers of the First National Channel could see a live broadcast of the show, held at the Millennium Square .

On LAD TV Channel Alexander Domoratsky organized a telebridge in his program"Common Unusual Day". And Ivan Mirsky presented his stories about the festival in the program"Family Affairs".

"Covering Slavonic Bazaar means working day and night", said a TV production director Vladimir Issat in the interview to"The Culture". The journalists of the First National TV Channel and TV Channel LAD could be seen day and night at all major events of the festival, catching the stars of showbiz for flash interviews."Belteleradiocompany's crew was in good mood and did their utmost to produce the coverage of the festival at the highest professional level", said Vladimir Issat.

The last day of the festival was crowned by a spectacular show of firecrackers, which greatly impressed both the residents and guests of Vitebsk.
